Dr. Reuben Maghembe is an interdisciplinary molecular bio-scientist, currently an NIH-funded postdoctoral research fellow under the collaboration of University of Virginia (U.S) and Kibong'oto Infectious Disease Hospital (KIDH) in Tanzania, employing multi-omics and bioinformatics approaches to dissect the interaction of tuberculosis and malnutrition. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biosciences from a SIDA-funded collaboration between the University of Dar es Salaam and Swedish Universities (Lund, Uppsala, and SLU). Dr. Maghembe holds two master's degrees, one in immunology and clinical microbiology from Makerere University in Uganda, and another in biochemistry from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Tanzania, after earning a bachelor's degree in science majoring in biology and chemistry from the University of Dar es Salaam. For the past five years, he has built a reputation for publishing high-impact genomic research and advancing bioinformatics, focusing on integrated genome mining and molecular docking for pathogen virulence analysis and drug discovery.
